The first team in the Pursuit category came across the One New Zealand GODZONE finish line this afternoon after putting in a stellar performance throughout the race.
Team Kolmarden Adventures were thrilled to take the win with Swedes Christer Casselsjo, Mats Rojgard and Magnus Blomgren congratulating their Kiwi team member Bridget Dick at the finish line.
“We only met each other just before the race and Bridget has been a great member of our team,” said Casselsjo. ”

“We really enjoyed the race and did not find the navigation to tasking.”

GODZONE Race Director Warren Bates praised Team Kolmarden Adventures as the very first international team to win the GODZONE Pursuit category.

“This is the first time we have had any international teams enter the Pursuit category in the events history and now one of them took it out. They delivered a very solid performance and made it look pretty easy actually.”

Bates says it shows other international competitors that Pursuit is an excellent way to experience what GODZONE is all about.”

“Though the course is shorter it is still a baptism of fire and tougher than any other expedition length race around the world. This is a great starting point for those international competitors keen to race in New Zealand.”
